ECONOMIC IMPACT
The Los Angeles region consists of Los Angeles and Orange counties. Such as, CSU Chancellor’s Office, CSU Dominguez Hills, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Long Beach, Cal State LA and CSUN. In summary, these campuses had a direct annual spend of $5.4 billion in 2019.
Each dollar LA area CSU campuses spends generates $1.52 dollars of positive economic activity in the state. Meanwhile, each dollar invested into LA area CSU campuses generates $5.97 in statewide spending. However, when accounting for the impact of enhanced earnings of CSU alumni, the value per dollar increases further. As a result, every dollar the state invested in these campuses now generates $29.54 of spending impact.
